Pixel TW-283 Wireless Timer Remote Control Review

I chose to purchase the Pixel TW-283RX Wireless Timer Remote Control for my Canon DSLR T5i, because I wanted to have a remote control option. It was very easy to connect to the camera, itself, and is very easy to use. There’s really not much to say about this product, but it does require 4 AAA batteries (2 in the remote and 2 in the timer). It doesn’t come with any batteries. So, you’ll have to supply your own.

Included in the packaging is the wireless remote timer, remote control to operate it, and a shutter connecting cable, which connects from the wireless timer to the camera, and attaches to the shoe mount, where the flash mounts normally go. It is very light on top of the camera, so you don’t have to worry about it having any weight behind it. You are able to connect to multiple channels, but I just keep mine set on channel one. The remote has to be connected to the same channel, in order for it to work properly. There are multiple shooting settings to choose from, such as single, continuous, bulb, delayed timing shots (with time and shot timer settings), and scheduled shots. All settings are explained in detail, inside the instruction booklet.

So far, it works really well and I haven’t had any issues with it. The only downside I really notice is that you cannot zoom in/out with it, unless I haven’t figured that part out yet, but as I can tell, there isn’t a zoom functionality. Though, for the price of this product, I can see why there isn’t one, but just would have been nice to have, and useful at times. Even though there isn’t a zoom option, it’s not a complete loss and still does the job very well.

If you are looking for a wireless remote control, it’s worth purchasing and would prefer this remote over the cheaper ones, because of more settings and a better build quality.
